The Chinese Festival returns to celebrate its 36th anniversary at the Chinese American Community Center in Hockessin with new sights, Asian-inspired bites, and new interactive activities for the thousands who attend each year.

The three-day festival (6/22 to 6/24) will highlight the Year of the Monkey, with cultural performances, classic Asian cuisine, exhibits, handicrafts by Chinese folk artists, vendor booths, traditional Chinese New Year ceremonies and of course the popular Dragon Dance.

Celebrating the rich diversity of Chinese culture in Wilmington, the Chinese Festival is a fun-packed family event that attracts people throughout the region each year. The featured performer this year is Yang Xiao Di, a Chinese circus performer, who is a master juggler.

New this year is a Karaoke Pavilion where guests can sing along to their favorite songs. Visitors can also learn how to use and write Chinese characters with expert calligraphers, and the Cooking Club will teach visitors how to make some traditional and delicious Chinese dishes and dough figurines – a traditional Chinese folk art.

CACC is a non-profit organization serving the greater Wilmington and Southeastern Pennsylvanian communities since 1982 with the vision of promoting the exchange and integration of Chinese and American cultures.

Admission is free; parking is $5 per vehicle.
