TSD: Delaware’s best take on events, community and local life

Another great turnout last night for a guest bartender event at the BBC Tavern & Grill in Greenville. This time teachers, parents and alum from the Cab Calloway School for the Arts were on tap, helping raise money for the Cab Calloway School Fund.

The Fund helps support many Cab Calloway programs, including performing arts, visual arts, and music. Guest bartending organizer Jeffrey Politis said the Feb 8th fundraiser raised $7,500 and will be directed toward the piano programs. The Fund also supports the newly-launched SmartSummer Camps, which invites children from more diverse communities to enjoy programming that brings together arts and academics to create a summer of “minds-on, hands-on learning.”

Bartenders included Dana Balik, Leslie Bastianelli, Jen Carbone, Howard Damude, Kim Hall-Brisco, Rich Hanel, Jen Lunger, Rick Jervis, John Koval, Tom Laskas, Kendra Nagy, David Nordheimer, Ron Ozer, Jeffrey Politis, Amanda and Ben Shepard, Bijan Sorouri, Van VanValkenburg and Joe Weeks.

“We are very fortunate to have a place like Cab Calloway School of the Arts in our community,” said parent and guest bartender Jen Lunger. “It’s wonderful to see such an outpouring of generosity from Cab families and friends in support of the School Fund.”

Cheers to the many guest bartenders and patrons who raised a glass in support of education.
