Leaving the Senate floor late Monday, Vice President Joe Biden quipped to reporters, “I am going to run, in 2020.”
When queried, the vice president continued that he was specifically talking about running “for president” and said he was “not committing to anything” one way or the other regarding his future plans. “Fate has a strange way of intervening,” said Biden, in suggesting his political career may not be over just yet.
Politico first reported the Biden comments made outside the Senate chambers where Biden spent 36 years in office. Tomorrow, December 7 – Delaware Day – the Senate will honor Biden with a series of speeches led by US Senator Chris Coons (D-DE).
