Move will bring new jobs to New Castle business park

The commercial real estate development company Harvey, Hanna & Associates (HHA) has leased over 100,000 square feet of wharehouse sales and distribution space in the Twin Spans Business Park (TSBP) in New Castle. Choctaw-Kaul, an award-winning manufacturer and distributor of gloves, personal protective equipment, safety tools and maintenance supplies said they anticipate having several dozen workers at the location in 2017.

“Initially we will be staffed with 16 personnel. That will probably grow to approximately 40 in the first quarter of 2017. Most, if not all of those positions will be filled by employees from our business partners” said Terry Turner, Operations Manager.

HHA has welcomed three new tenants to the building since July, totaling 160,000 square feet of commercial space – which is now 100% occupied.

Choctaw-Kaul is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, where the company has operated since 1912 and the firm operates eleven distribution centers and 15 sales offices throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“Choctaw-Kaul is a great addition to the Twin Spans Business Park and will provide excellent services, jobs and value to the local economy,” said Thomas J. Hanna, Vice-President/C.O.O., Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. “They are an ideal tenant for Twin Spans as their corporate mission aligns with our on-going commitment to occupational safety and standards.”

TSBP is considered by many to be the premier distribution campus in the mid-Atlantic region, featuring 1.85 million square feet of Class A commercial warehouse space spread across 135 acres of land along the Delaware River. Twin Spans further offers superior logistics throughout the mid-Atlantic region and points beyond, with immediate access to I-95, I-295, I-495 and the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

This is the second major leasing announcement by HHA in a matter of weeks. The Delaware Skills Center recently leased 34,823 square feet of space at 500 Ships Landing Way in TSBP.

The Delaware Skills Center is an adult vocational technical training center that provides skills training for adults seeking rewarding careers. As a division of the New Castle County Vocational Technical School District, DSC has been offering skills training and job placement opportunities to Delawareans since 1962. All DSC courses are taught through hands-on training and classroom instruction and have provided employment opportunities for thousands of graduates.
