The weather was resplendent for the 3rd annual Pars for Stars golf classic for Serviam Academy on October 10th. Seventy-six golfers enjoyed a day on the greens at Bidermann Golf Club followed by cocktails, a seasonal buffet dinner, and the sounds of Kristen Kwolek (of Kristen and the Noise) and her husband Johnny Phatt on guitar.
Golf outing event chair Ellen Songle made certain the carts were gassed, the pencils sharpened, and the food was hot. At the conclusion of the day, Songle presented awards for longest drive, closest to pin and low gross team. But the real winners were the students of Serviam Girls Academy, a tuition-free, independent Catholic middle school in New Castle, which will use funds from the event to support their scholarship program.
