Katie’s Crew had the proud and enviable distinction of leading Saturday’s Light the Night Walk in Wilmington. But the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Delaware was grateful to all of the dozens of teams and 1,100 pedsters who participated in the October 8th walk throughout the grounds of the Nemours Mansion and A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, making 2016 the largest and most successful in their history.
“We are thrilled with the turnout tonight, especially given the rain,” said LLS Delaware spokesperson Brook Patterson Rowe. “We are fortunate to have such a committed group of supporters and volunteers,” she said. When the final donations are tallied, Patterson said she expects the walk will have raised $300,000 for blood cancer research.
