TSD: Delaware’s best take on events, community and local life

In a testament to the hard work of a spirited bunch of planners, this year’s Beer Pong for Boobies raised $35,000 too fight breast cancer — $20,000 more than last year!

And even though raising money for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is serious business, this crowd had tons of fun pushing the creative limits with crazy t-shirts, costumes and assorted ping pong gear.

A record 400 attended and 128 teams participated in the Oct 1 fundraiser at the the McGrellis Auction House in Hockessin, tossing ping pong balls into black and pink beer cups on tables that were decorated with bright pink. Some game tables even had the Beer Pong for Boobies logo painted on them. Team ‘Tits Out for the Boys’ won the tourney, but there were also prizes for best and worst team name (TSD wonders if the overall winners won that, too?) and first team out.

Those who weren’t up to the tournament challenge were dubbed ‘cheerleaders’ but in reality had to refill all of those cups for the players!
