Runners feeling great after finishing the 2015 Delaware KIDS Fund 5K

Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. and The Delaware KIDS Fund have added a second race location to the popular Delaware KIDS Fund 5K. New this year will the details for the Delaware KIDS Fund 5K Series featuring races in Newport, DE (7th annual) and Dewey Beach, DE (inaugural). The 7th Annual event for Newport will take place on Saturday, August 6th while the inaugural Dewey Beach event will take place on Saturday, August 13th.

The Delaware KIDS Fund (Kids In Distressed Situations), established by Thomas J. Hanna of Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing goods and services to children at risk and in distressed situations. The events will help fight the on-going hunger issue in Delaware impacting children under the age of 18. 1 in 5 Delaware children are hungry. Proceeds from the event will be donated directly to various youth emergency food relief programs throughout Delaware.

  • Newport – Saturday, August 6th

Registration Opens: 7:30 AM ($25 prior to event / $30 day of)
Race Starts: 8:30 AM

Registration and post-race festivities will take place in the grass lot directly across the street from James Street Tavern. Event will feature face painting for children, DJ music, moon bounce, on-site massages, race photo booth, food and beverage including beers from Twin Lakes Brewery. Mascot appearances by Rocky Blue Winkle and YoUDee from the University of Delaware.

  • Dewey Beach – Saturday, August 13th

Registration Opens: 7:00 AM ($25 prior to event / $30 day of)
Race Starts: 8:00 AM

Registration and post-race festivities will take place at Que Pasa Mexican restaurant on Van Dyke Street and the Rehoboth Bay. Event will feature DJ Music, various amenities for the kids, on-site massages, food and beverages and post-event beach party on The Rehoboth Bay.

All race participants will receive an event t-shirt, microfiber promotional towel, refreshments and food to enjoy before and after the race. A $200 Cash Prize will be given to the overall male and female winners, plus awards will be given to the top 3 in ten year age groups from 13 and under to 70 and over. Plenty of additional specialty prizes will be available for all winners as well, including: Orioles Tickets, Phillies Tickets, UD Football tickets, Blue Rocks Tickets, gift certificates, rounds of golf, gym memberships and more!
