There was a new feature to Friday’s Art on the Town event — a pop-up exhibition at the DCCA, which helped attract large numbers of visitors to what is now called The Delaware Contemporary. Executive producer Barry Schlecker had arranged to have a WilmFilm festival in the traveling exhibition space at the Delaware Contemporary. But when events forced him to cancel the film festival, Schlecker and the gallery worked together to come up with a novel way to enjoy the space during the March 4th, “first Friday” Art Loop Wilmington. Even better, pop-up exhibition artist Tom Newforge came away with the Director’s Choice Award for his photography. Newforge will receive a free Emerging Artist booth at the 2016 Brandywine Festival of the Arts.
