Faithful Friends Animal Society had a very special celebrity guest at their guest bartending fundraiser earlier this month at Kelly’s Logan House. Dirk “Pete” Buchmann, who a year ago was homeless and living at the Sunday Breakfast Mission, became a local celebrity after it was revealed that he walked five miles every day from the homeless shelter to visit his dog Buster at Faithful Friends. TSD first reported the story here. Because of Pete’s devotion to his dog, he was given a job (that he still has), a truck, and perhaps best of all, a new home so he could reunite with Buster. Pete served up drinks at the Faithful Friends fundraiser and smiled proudly as supporters snapped pictures of themselves with him.
