There was a special ‘countdown to extinction’ celebration today at the Delaware Museum of Natural History which included two big balloon drops, dancing to a 6-piece band, and cheers of “Happy New Year!” Today’s festivities capped the museum’s 4-day Discovery Days extravaganza, which attracted some 2,400 people to the museum since Sunday. Discovery Days featured food trucks, story telling, game shows, “roaring” contests, and special themes every day, including Baby Dinosaurs, Jurassic Giants, Tyrant Tuesday and today’s Countdown to Extinction party. Today’s program also included free flight bird shows, endangered animal presentations, a visit by a large owl, craft activities and music by Garry and the Complainers all afternoon.
