The ballroom at Wilmington Country Club dazzled on December 12th, as members of Wilmington’s Greek community celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Hellenic University Club of Wilmington. With a record attendance of 227 guests, this year’s Christmas dinner dance was the largest ever and included a special recognition of the charter members of the Club. In keeping with the golden anniversary theme, tables were beautifully decorated with festive centerpieces and bright red Christmas presents tied with gold bows — some 500 gift boxes in all! Co-chairs Demi Kollias and Cathy Ziccarelli even arranged a special Argentine Tango performance. “It was an amazing and spectacular night,” remarked Kollias. “We were happy that so many people joined us for this special occasion. I am truly grateful to the entire team of volunteers who put in extra effort to make this an incredibly memorable evening.”
