Ministry of Caring supporters gathered at the University of Whist Club in Wilmington on Sunday to enjoy an evening of holiday music and cheer while raising funds for the Ministry’s three child care programs. The relaxed dinner and social included table visits by the Ministry’s Brother Ronald Giannone, a special performance by the Padua Academy Madrigals, and a silent auction which included attractive baskets for young families, babies and parents. This year’s Voices of Caring event was hosted by Denni Ferrara, Chris Meyer and Jen Sidwell, with Caroline Horty Dickerson and Jim Horty serving as honorary chairs. “This is such a special event,” said Jim Horty. “We believe that if we focus our resources and attention on the very young — those in child care — that we can help break the cycle of poverty here in Wilmington.”
