Hip hop party goers dressed like Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol and Madonna kicked up their heels at Autism Delaware’s annual fall gala and auction last month at the Queen Theatre at World Cafe Live. The “Back to the 80s” dance party included live music, a lip sync battle, dinner, a silent auction, and of course plenty of colorful wide-shouldered and retro ensembles. While a DJ also played popular ’80s favorites, a special four-song set of live rock music was played by the Delaware band “Just Us.” The three piece band includes front man and lead guitarist Alan Keith Fogelman and drummer Anthony Benevento — both of whom have autism — and 14-year-old bass phenom Alex Barie.
