The Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation put on quite a show last week at their annual fundraiser “It’s Showtime!”  Several hundred attended the November 5th party, this year held at the Waterfall in Claymont. The evening, which included a live band, dancing and a silent auction, was supported by the many members of Wilmington Women in Business. At the event two scholar graduates spoke about their personal experiences and professional triumphs due in large part to their participation in the Foundation’s program. Fresh Start Scholar speakers included Sheila Boyer, who graduated from Wilmington University with a B.S. in Behavioral Science, and Olevia Raymond, who graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Criminal Justice.

The Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation supports women who have faced obstacles on their quest for a college degree. In addition to financial support, each scholar is given a mentor to provide guidance and encouragement.
