Late Monday afternoon, word started to spread through the Delaware high school soccer community that Freekickerz, a popular global YouTube channel, was featuring a gutsy, athletic goaltending effort by Tower Hill’s Bo Anderson as the best goalkeeping save of the week. You can see the great save at the 1:35 minute-marker in the video.
The save, which actually occurred during last year’s state tournament semi-final round, earned high points from the site for stopping a penalty kick, coming at a “close distance,” being a “double save” and having a “celebration” afterwards, among other plaudits. As of Tuesday afternoon, more than 180,000 soccer fans around the world had seen Mr. Anderson’s diving derring-do.
