Who really rules the shelter — the cats or the dogs? The Delaware Humane Association hosted a friendly fundraiser last week at the BBC Tavern and Grill to determine whether felines or canines really rule the shelter. Guest bartenders divided into Team Cats and Team Dogs and served up libations to friends and supporters. When the tabs were totaled, the DHA was proud to raise $4,200, with Team Cats leading the way!

The DHA even brought a few adoptable pets to the party as well as a life-size rubber duck mascot. Bathtub-sized rubber ducks are “up for adoption” now, as part of the DHA’s 2nd annual Rubber Duck Race fundraiser, which will take place on Thu., Sep. 17th at Wilmington’s Riverfront. And the grand opening of the DHA’s brand new facility will take place Wed., Sep. 16th at 6 pm. The public is invited to both events!
