National and local female artists — some 40 in all — introduced their music to hundreds of new listeners last Thursday at Wilmington’s 4th annual Ladybug Music Festival. The free women’s music festival is unique to Wilmington and was the brainchild of Gable Music Venture’s Gayle Dillman, who lures well-know singer wing writers from Nashville and invites up-and-coming local talent to perform at the annual block party in downtown Wilmington. Bands, duets and soloists could be heard from just about every storefront, art gallery, restaurant, and coffee shop, and several larger bands performed at the outdoor mainstage on Market Street.
