Sources on site at the former Cosi in Powder Mill Square confirm the location is undergoing construction to make way for the global coffee colossus Starbucks, just steps away from dominant local incumbent Brew Ha Ha!‘s flagship store.
The doors on Starbuck’s latest First State location will likely open later this summer, though no specific date has been offered. The chain is known to scout locations carefully before investing, but Brew Ha Ha! Greenville’s clientele is famously loyal. Local observers expressed surprise but appreciation for the impending coffee competition.
