Hundreds of competitors and volunteers served up aces for Easter Seals Delaware at this weekend’s Volleyball Challenge. Businesses, legislators, restaurants, college co-eds and high school teams get pumped up for the 3-day competition every year. It’s a huge event — some 2,000 people streamed through the doors to watch, play or volunteer this year. In the political showdown, the Republicans, captained by Sen. Greg Lavelle and Rep. Michael Ramone, once again took home the prize, beating the Democrats now 7 of the last 10 match-ups. Congratulations to Capital One 360, who won the corporate challenge the second year in a row, and to Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Technical High School for winning the high school competition. Grottos on Delaware Avenue took home the top prize in the restaurant category. Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore hopes exceeding their goal of raising $375,000.
