For the 22nd year, the St. Patrick’s Day Society hosted a dinner, parade and breakfast to celebrate the feast day of Ireland’s patron saint while raising critical funds for Wilmington citizens in need.  The Society’s annual dinner and communion breakfast brought together over 800 local Irish Americans, politicians, community leaders and revelers, generating over $200,000 for St. Patrick’s Center, which provides vital services including food, clothing and transportation to needy families and individuals.  Wilmington businessman and philanthropist Paul McConnell was recognized at this year’s breakfast with the Daniel S. Frawley Award, presented for community leadership in honor of the late Wilmington Mayor and original Society member.
