In what’s become a winter tradition, the Wilmington Police Department faced off against the Wilmington Fire Department last week, doing battle on the ice to raise money for kids battling childhood cancer. With over 1,000 tickets sold, the Wilmington Winter Classic at the Skating Club of Wilmington was standing room only, as spectators watched the boys in blue best the fire department, 6-3. Every year proceeds from the game benefit The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.
