The Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation recently hosted more than 300 guests at Deerfield for an evening of fun and fundraising at the “It’s Showtime” gala! Co-chaired by Bebe Coker and Priscilla Rakestraw, the evening featured live entertainment, an elaborate silent auction and a very popular raffle, raising scholarship funds for women – many of whom were in the audience – who are returning to school after a break in their educations.

The Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation is the charitable arm of Wilmington Women in Business, providing scholarships to adult women seeking to improve opportunities for themselves and their families through education. Since its inception in 1996, the foundation has awarded $640,000 in scholarships to 159 women, designating 97 cents of every dollar raised to scholarships.
