More than 100 friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute attended a unique cancer prevention discussion last month at the Wilmington Country Club. Friends of the Cancer Center were joined by William W. Li, M.D., of the Angiogenesis Foundation in Cambridge, Massachusetts.Dr. Li shared his thoughts about angiogenesis, abnormal blood vessel growth, and the theory that dietary choices can minimize one’s risk of cancer. Honorary Chair Carla Markell introduced the speaker, and Li’s remarks were followed by a reception.

Founded in 2002, the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is a volunteer organization working in corporation with the clinical staff of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute to help fund programs that enhance the patient care experience, support cancer research, and provide public education on prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.
