Over 40 kids celebrated the end of the summer tennis season today as the non-profit Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring Association (RSTTA) wrapped up their 8-week program with special closing exercises. With seven instructors and enrollment in six USTA sanctioned tournaments, the program offered lots of valuable tennis instruction and practice opportunities. Several participants come back year after year. In fact, several Rodney Street summer participants play on high school tennis teams, including Mt. Pleasant, Sanford, Brandywine H.S. and Ursuline. Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring Association offers year-round tennis and tutoring to inner-city youth who might otherwise not experience the joy of playing tennis and the opportunity for subject-specific one-on-one tutoring.
