The summer race season kicked off at the beach Memorial Day Weekend, with the annual Highway One Pictures 5K. Part of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach Road Race Series, the event started and finished at the Rusty Rudder and welcomed more than 450 runners. (Editor’s note: This participant PR’d and beat her husband to the finish by nearly a minute. She will now retire as reigning queen of the household.) The next race in the series is this weekend’s non-competitive Dewey Color Run.
