The Wawaset outdoor Holiday Market began their day offering fresh crepes and hot cocoa that disappeared quickly on a chilly Saturday morning. But shoppers still had homemade cinnamon swirl bread, exquisite holiday cookies, pretzel candy and other goodies to sample and take home at the 5th annual event on Saturday. Some 20 exhibitors — including boutique stores from Greenville — lined 11th Street in Wawaset selling Christmas trees, wreaths, clothing, home accessories, ornaments, and gifts. There was a craft table for kids, too. The Christ Church Green Show also took place on Saturday, Dec 7, giving Wilmington shoppers lots to choose from. But event organizers at both events were very pleased at their turnouts and even more delighted to have avoided Sunday’s snow storm.
