Delaware’s second-oldest consecutively run road race went to the birds on Saturday, as hundreds of runners flocked to Newark for the 40th running of the Turkey Trot. With both a 10K and a 5K option, there was something for everyone – even those who sported headwear to recognize the bird of honor! The annual event benefits the city’s Parks and Recreation Department; specifically, the James Hall Scholarship Fund to support recreational activities for kids in need.
