Start It Up Delaware will be hosting the Delaware event for the 4th annual Global Startup Battle, which will take place on Nov. 15-17, 2013 at The coIN Loft, Delaware’s premiere coworking space located in downtown Wilmington.

The format for the weekend is essentially the same as Startup Weekend: beginning with “open mic” 60-second “elevator” pitches on Friday evening, attendees share their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.

What makes this particular weekend a “global” startup battle is that there will be 200+ cities all over the world that will simultaneously be hosting similar events. The idea was to have a “global weekend of innovation,” where the winners from each city will then go on to “virtually” compete against one another for cash and prizes totaling over $500K.
