TSD: Delaware’s best take on events, community and local life

Fall_2010-400x267Saturday, Nov. 2 at the University of Delaware      ~

Join Special Olympics  Delaware at their annual four-sport event: the Fall Festival, which takes place at the University of Delaware athletic complex. The games committee, directed and staffed by JPMorgan Chase employees, spends months planning for this large event. An outpouring of day-of JPMorgan Chase volunteers (some 400 are expected!) make this festival an annual favorite for everyone involved. There is even an Olympic Village. Employees from Chase provide the athletes and families fun and educational activities to explore in between games. Whether it’s playing miniature golf or singing along with the karaoke machine, there’s something for everyone in the Village. For more information visit the Fall Festival website.

Sports Offered

Bocce: Teams of four compete on carpeted courts inside Delaware Field House.

Flag Football: Catch all the action on the turf inside Delaware Stadium.

Soccer: Traditional and Unified teams compete in 5 vs. 5 action on the fields behind Rullo Stadium. Teams are divisioned based on pre-tournament evaluations.

Volleyball: Following preliminary games Friday night, traditional and Unified teams compete in a round-robin tournament inside the Delaware Field House.
