Jill Biden and her daughter Ashley Biden reflected on their relationship, as well as the inspiring women they’ve encountered on their trips around the world at last Sunday’s gathering at Pizza by Elizabeth’s. Influenced greatly by the work and activism of her parents, Ashley  said that at an early age, she knew she wanted to become a social worker. Her mother, Ashley said, always taught her to be kind to others and to follow her intuition – messages Jill drove home through notes she would leave for her daughter. The Bidens’ talk, sponsored by Great Dames, kicked off the fall 2013 series of “Amazing Mothers & Daughters.” Great Dames celebrates women of achievement, and their mission is to connect and mobilize women of kindred spirits. Proceeds from the event benefitted Young@Art, an art program for adjudicated youths, which Ashley Biden co-founded.
