Kids had lots of reasons to celebrate the start of the new school year in Wilmington on Saturday. Some 1,600 brand new backpacks and school supplies were given to under privileged and at-risk children at the Back-2-School Backpack Fest at the Alapocas Run State Park. The 2nd annual festival was sponsored by the Faith Victory Christian Center. Some 2,000 people attended the community event, which included face painting, games, rides, strolling among exhibitors, food and more.
