King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will celebrate the 375th anniversary of the arrival of the first settlers on their May 11th visit to Wilmington. It was 375 years ago that the Kalmar Nyckel brought the first Swedish and Finnish settlers to the Delaware Valley. The King and Queen will reenact the disembarking from the tall ship Kalmar Nyckel, a replica of the original 1638 ship.
