The color red took on a special significance on Thursday at a Go Red for Women Breakfast at The Pointe in Wilmington. All month long the American Heart Association (AHA) is encouraging women to wear red as a show of support for the AHA and as a reminder that heart disease is the #1 killer of women. Nancy Anne Fleming, the Wilmington 2013 Go Red for Women Chair, hosted the Valentine’s Day breakfast to kick off a month of fundraising activities for the AHA, including the Go Red for Women Luncheon, Fashion Show and Health Expo on Thursday, May 16. The breakfast included men and women dedicated in their commitment to fighting heart disease as well as Nancy’s personal trainer Anthuan Maybank, whom Nancy credits with helping her adopt a more healthy and fit lifestyle.
