Saturday, March 2 from 9 am to 9 pm ~
The Delaware College of Art and Design in WIlmington welcomes the community to its annual Drawing Marathon, a 12-hour event created to develop your artistic vision, sharpen your skills, and energize your studio experience through figure drawing.
DCAD’s event is inspired by the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture which founded the Drawing Marathon 20 years ago with the belief that drawing is the basis of understanding of one’s experience of the world. Today, drawing marathons are a worldwide trend, spanning the U.S. and globe.
For this special event, DCAD’s Toni & Stuart B. Young Gallery in DCAD’s historic landmark building will be transformed into a 5,000-square-foot studio where from 9 AM to 9 PM you will work alongside DCAD’s faculty, staff, students and artists of all experience levels. Come for one hour or stay for all 12! Please bring your own drawing or painting supplies.
Please note that seating is limited for this very special event. Advance registration is strongly recommended. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the door, the day of the event. Call 302.622.8867 x110 or email jcampbell@dcad.edu for more information.
