World Cafe Live at the Queen Theater ~ Tasty offerings from seven popular local restaurants were paired with fine wines and ale at the 2012 finale of the Premier Wine & Spirits Chef Tasting Series last week. Some 150 guests nibbled on dishes including venison shepherd’s pie, Mojo chicken, corned duck with pumpernickel pretzel, and rabbit bolognese. Participating restaurants included Red Fire Grill, Chelsea Tavern, Stone Balloon Wine House, 2 Stones Pub, Pizza by Elizabeths, Bella Vista and Ole Tapas. A portion of the proceeds was directed to the Light Up the Queen Foundation. According to Ryan Kennedy of Harvey, Hanna & Associates, the Premier Wine & Spirits Chef Series campaign generated over $6,500 for local charities this year.
