Any day now, the Delaware Children’s Museum will welcome its 300,000th visitor. To commemorate this exciting milestone, the two-year-old museum will surprise the lucky guest with a “DCM Play Package.”
Prizes include a free DCM Birthday Party and a bunch of goodies from the “Fun in Store” gift shop that will help a lucky family kick off the new school year right: A cuddly DCM teddy bear; a pinwheel (like the spinner on the Museum’s tower); a book of Mad Libs (yes, they still make them!); and a reusable DCM cinch bag.
In addition to the six science, math, engineering, and technology exhibition galleries and the studio space, families can find two more playful learning experiences at the Museum. In the “DCM Gym,” (through Tuesday, Sept. 4) kids and grown-ups can learn about anatomy and the physiology of athletic performance as they design their own aerobic routines, test their balance on a stepping stones course, shoot some hoops, and try out fun, new exercises.
The special temporary exhibition “Exhibiting Imagination: Doodling Delaware” (through Sunday, Sept. 30) showcases the top submissions from Delaware’s students in this year’s national Doodle 4 Google competition. Children can also try their hand at doodling the DCM logo and enter their creative works in a weekly competition. Winning designs will hang in the gallery space.
