Special guests Sponge Bob and Elmo visited the Alapocas Run State Park last weekend to bring smiles to hundreds of faces at the Back-to-School Backpack Festival sponsored by Faith Victory Christian Center in WIlmington. Some 1,000 parents and children filled the park, enjoying games and prizes, story-telling, face painting, karate demonstrations, puppet shows, live music and tasty picnic fare. The FFCC held a backpack drive, filling the packs with school supplies for children with special needs as well as those living in shelters and foster homes.
