On one of the hottest weekends of the summer, historic Rockwood Park offered a cool, fun respite for thousands of ice cream enthusiasts. Thanks to the efforts of organizer Barry Schlecker and so many volunteers, vendors and, of course, families looking to escape the July heat, this past weekend saw the revival of a grand Delaware tradition – renamed the “Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park” – with the backdrop of the unique Victorian mansion on Shipley Road.
