Sanford School offered up a delicious opportunity to give back to our community last week with their Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social. Students from Pre-K through 12th grade worked all year long to create handsome clay bowls that are unique works of art. Last week several students donated their bowls to the Empty Bowls Project, and guests made donations of $10 for each bowl they took home. Most visitors enjoyed a scoop of delicious ice cream, which was donated by Hy-Point Dairy. Students raised more than $8,000 for the Food Bank of Delaware. “I am amazed at how much pride these students have in creating beautiful bowls for the Food Bank project,” remarked Sanford parent Kathy Zabel.
