Members of the Wilmington Rowing Center really know how to put on a show! On crisp, beautiful Saturday morning, teams of rowers participated in the annual “Santa Row” on the Christina River to raise money for the Ministry of Caring. Crews dressed as Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, Alaskan sled dogs, holly wreaths and jolly old Santas. They competed for best costume, best boat decoration, and best song as they chanted and rowed up and down the river. Members were pleased to raise over $10,000 for the Ministry of Caring. “This is one of our favorite days of the year,” said WRC member Kathlyn Gamble. “We have such fun coming up with our boat theme, and our costumes are top secret secret until the day of the row.”
