More than thirty Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and volunteers planted 150 trees along the Red Clay Creek floodplain at the Ashland Nature Center on Saturday in an effort to help reduce soil erosion and to increase species diversity. Boy Scout Richie Lou came up with the idea as a way to make a positive contribution toward the environment with the involvement of Scouts of all ages. Richie hopes to earn the highest rank of Eagle Scout, highlighting this project.
