Ken Grant has spent most of his life in Delaware, loves being in all three counties, works for the only U.S.-based manufacturer of Thin Layer Chromatography Plates, is married to an incredible woman who is willing to put up with his antics and is the father of two teenagers who have agreed to wait at least another 20 years before writing the books about their “adventurous” childhood.

Al Mascitti, Chad Livengood, Barry Schlecker & Rick Jensen at last year's Newark Film Festival.

It’s become an annual ritual in my household – gathering around the computer to check out all of the trailers, coordinate the schedules, and figure out how to enjoy as many great films as possible at the Newark Film Festival.

Here’s the thing – I can still remember seeing such great films as Winnebago Man and Exit Through the Gift Shop at last year’s Newark Film Festival – these are pieces that some people are just now discovering.

This year’s line-up looks incredible – from films about monks standing up to an oppressive military to documentaries about hip hop and fashion photographers to locally produced films from the Delaware Independent Filmmakers and shorts from the Film Brothers – this festival has it all!

Do yourself a huge favor, go here and start checking out the trailers – then get your tickets to enjoy some of the freshest film available http://www.newarkfilm.com/

Barry Schlecker and his team (I’m looking at you, Sarah and Amanda) continue to outdo themselves every year – I would argue this is quickly becoming one of the best film festivals in the country.

Come out and experience it for yourself. You will be entertained, you will be challenged, you will be inspired!
