Although the Delaware State Fair will reach its conclusion on Saturday night, there are still a number of attractions and musical acts scheduled during the event’s final two days.
Below are a list of highlights from the list of scheduled events, which might be helpful for those who have not had the opportunity to visit the campgrounds or want to squeeze a little more enjoyment out of the fair’s final days.
1. Blueberry Blowout Contest
This is an opportunity to present a blueberry-related recipe for up to $100 in prizes.
Check-in and setup occurs at 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Judging begins at 10:45 a.m. The event is presented by Dave Wilson, 35th District Representative.
2. Circus Hollywood
This event features a family friendly circus act from a Czechoslovakian troupe, filled with acrobats, clowns and various stunts.
This event occurs from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
3. Forever Young Ice Show
The State Fair features ice shows throughout the weekend, which is free for all ages and provides attendees with an opportunity to get out of the heat.
This event occurs from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
4. Demolition Derby
While more traditional forms of entertainment centered around motor vehicles occur in Dover, this event features drivers putting their cars to their literal breaking points.
The event is presented by Manlove Auto Parts and occurs at 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, 7/29. Admission costs $16-18 based on location if ordered from the State Fair’s website.
5. Fireworks
The fair concludes with a fireworks presentation at the M&T Pavilion. Fireworks are a popular and entertaining attraction for many, and this presentation should meet those expectations.
The fireworks presentation will occur between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
