But plenty of events are coming up that focus on tasty fare.

Constitution Yards Beer Fest 2022
Twelve breweries are visiting the Wilmington Riverfront venue to pour their wares and discuss the inspiration behind them. Buy a $40 wristband to taste them all, or purchase your beer individually.

The Delaware Agricultural Museum’s Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival will be Aug. 27.

Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival
This annual event at the Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village in Dover showcases producers on the Delaware Beer, Wine & Spirits Trail. Expect food trucks, live music, outdoor games and guided tours. If it rains, the event moves inside. General admission is $50 until Aug. 23 and $60 on the day of the event.

The Delaware Saengerbund’s Oktoberfest returns Sept. 9-11.
Friday, Sept. 9 – Sunday, Sept. 11
The anticipated festival in Newark is early this year. But, as before, guests will enjoy German food and beverages — aka beer — amusement rides and Bavarian bands. Lederhosen is optional. The fee is $10 per person.
Saturday, Sept 10, and Sunday, Sept. 11
Brandywine Festival of the Arts
Sure the 240 artisans are the main draw to the picturesque grounds near the Brandywine Zoo for the Brandywine Festival of the Arts. But the nearly 15,000 visitors will also come to the 61st annual event for the dozen-plus food vendors offering chicken, BBQ, soul food, cinnamon buns, kettle corn, ice cream and water ice. A shuttle bus service will be available at Incyte, 1801 Augustine Cutoff. Admission is $5; children 12 and under get in for free.

The 9th annual Odessa Brewfest returns Sept. 10.
Saturday, Sept. 10
Just about every Delaware brewery will show up for this fundraiser, which benefits the Historic Houses of Odessa. Along with craft beers, the event includes music and food. General admission tickets are $60; designated driver tickets are $15.
Saturday, Sept. 17
This popular chef-supported event was founded by Donny Merrill, the owner of Skipjack, to raise money for Sanfilippo research. His daughter, Michaela, has the rare disease. Held on Fort DuPont Preservation Lands, the fundraiser will include food trucks, family games, a roster of local bands, a beer garden, wine and a full bar. Admission is free.

The new Last Sips of Summer Frogtoberfest will feature vendors, food trucks and alcohol.
Sunday, Sept. 18

Event guru Barry Schlecker and wine expert Frank Pagliaro of Frank’s Wine have paired up to organize a walk-around sipping festival with more than 120 vendors, food trucks and live music. If you like your sips, you can buy the product at a discount. The activity will take place in the parking lot of Frank’s and Winner Audi in Wilmington. Tickets are $40 per person or $50 for reserved seating.

Historic New Castle wades into Belgium beer with a new festival.,
Saturday, Sept. 24
Historic New Castle Belgian Beer Festival
The new event in scenic Battery Park will feature more than 10 Belgian beers to sample, including saison, Trappist and other signature styles. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $75 for VIP and $10 for designated drivers.

The sixth Delaware Taco Festival will include more than 25 taco and food vendors.
The sixth event in Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park will include more than 25 taco and food vendors, a margarita bar, tequila sampling, kids’ games and live entertainment. General admission is $9.99.

The 7th “SoDel Fest” will be held at Hopkins Heartland, an event venue in Lewes.
Saturday, Oct. 1
Southern Delaware Wine, Food and Music Festival
The seventh “SoDel Fest,” held at Hopkins Heartland, an event venue in the Lewes area, will feature four bands, more than 25 restaurants and 75 wines, craft beers and cocktails. Guests will also watch chefs compete in a culinary contest. The event benefits Pathways to Success and Children’s Beach House. Tickets are $150 each.

Bridgeville Apple-Scrapple Festival
One of southern Delaware’s favorite events boasts a food court with apple dumplings, oyster sandwiches, funnel cakes, cheesesteaks and, of course, scrapple sandwiches.
