How About $25,000 for Your Business?

Ashley Biden discussed her venture “Livelihood” at the Great Dames event in April

A women’s leadership and networking organization is offering $25,000 to the best business ideas pitched around health and wellness, security and safety, education and young people.

Great Dames Inc., founded by a former DuPont executive Sharon Kelly Hake, is calling for applications by September 20 for its third “Remarkable Ideas Competition.”  A pitch event overseen by judges and members of the organization’s network will take place on October 15 with a winner to be announced on Nov. 5, 2018.

The competition is designed to encourage women to turn substantive ideas into successful ventures.  Finalists receive feedback and coaching on their pitch and the winner receives a package worth more than $25,000 in cash and business services.

Hake said this year the nonprofit organization has broadened its scope and membership and the program would “provide a meaningful platform for them to share their valuable ideas.”

Held every two years, prior Remarkable Ideas Competition winners include Dr. Kim Nalda, founder, Rekindle Family Medicine in 2016 and Tanya Whye, founder & CEO, Delaware Green Mattress Disassembling & Recycling, LLC, in 2014.
