Bartenders Serve Up a Good Time for Rodney Street Tennis

The Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring Association enjoyed a great turnout at their annual guest bartending event on February 8th at the BBC Tavern & Grill. About 100 tennis lovers, and folks who support the mission of the organization turned out to enjoy a night of fellowship and fun at the Greenville eatery. Working in pairs, 18 volunteers took 20-minute shifts behind the bar, serving beverages to their friends and collecting tips for ‘Rodney Street.’

Jen Wilson and Melissa Bilek were the co-chairs of the fundraiser, which helped raise nearly $7,000 for Rodney Street. “It was great to be a part of such a outstanding night in bringing the community together for RSTTA,” said Wilson. “It is an amazing organization that truly supports our youth and fosters a great foundation for these amazing kids!”

The BBC Tavern & Grill guest bartending calendar books up fast, because the event is an easy way to bring people together who support a specific cause for a social and relaxing evening. “It was a pleasure to work with Jen, Melissa, Kareem (Bryant, the Rodney Street executive director) and the team at RSTTA,” said BBC owner Dave Dietz. “They really help make a difference in the lives of kids in Wilmington, and we are honored to partner with them to raise awareness and money to help kids in our area.”
