Savory and Elegant Evening at Wine Feast and Auction

Wine and theatre enthusiasts enjoyed a fabulous evening at the annual Wine Feast & Auction at the Delaware Art Museum. The popular event, which benefits the Delaware Theatre Company, took place under two large outdoor tents which faced the Copeland sculpture garden museum as well as inside the museum in open gathering spaces accented by contemporary art.

Bouchaine served as the evening’s host and main sponsor. But several other wine and beverage makers were on hand to offer tastings and food pairings, including Real Wine, The Wine & Spirit Company of Greenville, Standard Distributing, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Branmar Wine & Spirits, Collier’s of Centreville, Kreston Wine & Spirits, Moore Brothers Wine Company.

Auctioneer William Bunch sold several fine wine lots before leading up to the most popular offering at the live auction: a dinner hosted by DTC Executive Director and Creator Bud Martin and his wife, Kate, at their home with Olympic skating stars Dorothy Hamill, Randy Gardner and Tai Babilonia.  With the professional’s expertise for enticing bidders to stay engaged, the DTC captured a record return on this year’s live auction.

Mark your calendars for the DTC’s next large gala: PLAY A PART on March 3,2018. The 5th Annual PLAY A PART will feature performances by local community and civic leaders, as well as Broadway’s Who’s Who.

  • This is a poorly writtten article and makes me wonder if this blog site was actually even at the event. This wine feast was a big bust and a waste of money. There was no one there except the entire staff of the Del Theater Co. and they couldn’t stop congratulating themselves.
