The Intercollegiate Studies Institute welcomed more than 200 guests from the local community to its national headquarters in Greenville last month to tour the historical property and learn more about ISI’s work with the next generation of American leaders.
Founded in 1953, ISI is a nonprofit that supports the spread of conservative ideas on American college campuses. ISI offers a wide range of leadership development programs, and its program alumni can be found in influential positions at America’s leading think tanks, media outlets, colleges, and businesses.
Guests were introduced to Charlie Copeland, who recently took the helm as ISI’s sixth president, and the rest of the ISI team. Bill Rivers, an ISI alumnus from the University of Delaware who now works as a speechwriter for Secretary of Defense James Mattis, gave a stirring account of how his time with ISI changed his life.
“It was such an honor to host so many old and new friends,” Copeland said at the event on September 27th. “The enthusiasm was incredible to see. We’re truly humbled to be part of such a wonderful community, and we’re excited to stay in touch.”
