Rising Sanford Hoops Star Gets National Attention

Sanford student Jyare Davis is gaining national exposure for his game

A national sports media powerhouse told its more than 5.2 million followers on Twitter to keep an eye out for Sanford basketball sensation Jyare Davis.

On Tuesday, the Bleacher Report tweeted that “the college basketball world better start preparing for Jyare Davis,” a message that quickly drew over 700 comments and 2300 likes. 

The 6 foot 7 inch sophomore at the private Hockessin school has been turning heads since a stellar freshman year, averaging 20.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 2016-17. 

The Bleacher Report video stated that 15-year-old phenom, who hopes to lead the Warriors to a record ninth state boys basketball title in 2018, is one of the top players in the 2020 class; the 14th ranked shooting guard in the nation; that he’s drawing interest from top schools such as Duke, Kentucky, Villanova, Miami, Florida and St. John’s.
